Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan has rendered his whole hearted support to the noble cause to save poor children from heart decease. He has decided to support the cause by accepting to be the brand ambassador of the scheme launched by World Malayalee Council (WMC) to save 100 downtrodden children having cardio disorder.

A musical programme titled ‘Hrudhaya Ragam - 2008’ will be organized to raise fund for the cause in Chennai on 24th of February, featuring Tamil and Malayalam playback singers. Kamal, who met the media persons to brief them about the scheme, informed that he would participate in the programme, which will be inaugurated by ‘Isai Gnani’ Ilayaraja.

Kamal went emotional when he talked about his commitment in the scheme. “I feel proud to be a part of a scheme that seeks to save the poor children’s lives. I sincerely consider all these children as my own children”, said the actor.

Kamal also responded to the queries on his mega project 'Dasavatharam'. He said the film would be released by April and the audio by March. He was all in praise for Himesh Reshammiya for his outstanding music in the movie. “Though he is a north Indian, he has brilliantly captured the essence of south Indian life”.

Malayala Manorama, the media partner of the scheme has donated Rs. 25 lakhs for the cause. This has prompted the organizers to modify their scheme which was titled as “100 lakhs of rupees can save 100 infants lives”. Now WMC has decided to give free treatment to 125 children.
