Earlier, all the flop actresses from Bollywood made a beeline to act in south Indian films as it was considered to be lucky. Once they had a couple of hits here, they would fly back home to the Hindi industry and become quite successful there.

Top-ranking actresses such as Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta too did this at one stage of their career. Now, it is the turn of Kajol’s kid sister Tanisha to try her luck here.

Barring Neil and Nikki, her films are barely remembered in Hindi. Though Sarkar was a huge hit, she had a blink and go role in it. Now, she will be seen opposite NTR in Kantri. Already, Hansika has been signed to play the other heroine.

The film is being made under the Vyjayanti Banner by C Aswini Dutt and the music is by Mani Sarma. Two songs have already been shot, and four more will be picturised soon.

The film is being readied for summer release.
