'Director Ameer should stop throwing mudslinging at Studio Green, producers of Paruthiveeran, S R Prakashbabu, proprietor,' Studio Green has said.
In a press release released in Chennai on Monday, Prakashbabu said, "Ameer, who directed Paruthiveeran had betrayed his promise and dragged the movie and completed it much late".
Referring to a recent interview by Ameer in a section of press in which Ameer had expressed his ire at the Studio Green, Prakashbabu, said, "The pooja was done on 21 July 2005 and the director agreed to work on a first-copy basis for a sum of Rs 2.75 crore".
"After dragged for two months, Ameer commenced the shooting of the movie. After shooting the movie for over 100 days in two schedules, he obtained Rs two crore from us on a promise that he would complete the movie in one week".
He further said, "Ameer came with a sweet-coated promise that he would complete the film in a budget of Rs 3.5 crore. This shocked me and repeated requests to obtain accounts from him yielded no results. Hence I advised the director instead of giving entire rights for production that I will take control of the administration and further requested him what his remuneration would be. But for my surprise, he demanded one crore which shocked me".
"On coming to know that we are prepared top go to the Producers Council, Ameer agreed to complete the movie in a week's time. But that was done after giving us severe mental agony", he said.
"Ameer had manipulated our authorization letter and obtained censor certificate in the name of Team Work Productions House. Isn't it a betrayal? After all issues, when the movie was set for release, Ameer again demanded money to release the movie."
"I demanded for the money what he received through the area because the money was borrowed as interest from other financiers. But Ameer did not bother to reply me. As a result, we chose to release the film on our own. Ameer knows very well that if he sits before me and comes for discussion, he owes not less than Rs 50 lakh. He cannot go on with the act of mudslinging on others. It would not be good for his career", Prakashbabu said.
