Earlier, that means some 40 years ago, the artistes used to sing songs on their own in films. There are no playback singers at that time. Bhanumati continued the tradition till her death.

Now it seems noted writer, artiste and director Tanikella Bharani is also following the tradition. He is singing a song on his own shot on him for 'Kaartheeka Maasam' directed by Geddada Anandababu and produced by Anaparthi Sivaramakrishna on the banner of Mallikarjuna Movies.

It may be recalled here that Tanikella Bharani had earlier scripted and rendered a song for his character to a film 'Gundammagari Manavadu' directed by B Jaya.

In fact, it is a parody for 'Vivaha Bhojanambu…', a popular song in old classic 'Mayabazaar'.

Lakshmi Vinayak is scoring music for 'Kaartheeka Maasam'.
