The film being produced jointly by Rameshkumar Alapati and Soma Vijayaprakash on the banner of Godavari Films, introducing Satyam Dwarapudi as director, with Naresh, Sivaji and Sridevi in the lead was titled as 'Pellikaani Prasad'.

It may be mentioned here that noted director cum producer EVV Satyanarayana had suggested that title for the movie. Raghuvaran and Tulasi were playing the parents of the heroine in this movie.

Sri, son of music director Chakravarthi, scored melodious music for the movie.

The shooting of the entire film was complete but for the canning of three songs and some patchwork. The film is coming up as a total entertainer with good comedy, in the backdrop of the success of several comedy films.
