Gopichand had earned a good name as an artiste through 'Jayam' and 'Varsham'. Though playing negative roles, he looked heroic in those films. Later, he turned hero and earned a good mass image with 'Yagnam' and 'Ranam'.

Very recently, he played hero in 'Okkadunnadu' under the direction of Chandrasekhar Yeleti, who gave sensational films like 'Aithe and Anukokunda Oka Roju'.

The film is running successfully with a good commercial hit talk.

Producer Cherry says, 'Gopichand has good mass image, while director Chandu has class image. I have decided to do an all-class film in the combination of these two. The film was made with a different point by introducing 'Bombay Blood Group'. All of us felt it quite different movie. It would remain a different movie in Gopichand's career.'
