Trends keep changing in the Indian film arena. It is always safer to take a stride in the oft-treaded path and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, as films industry involves high-stakes and there are many who depend on it.

The most recent trend is remakes. Bollywood has been smitten by the remake fever since quite some time now. Following closely on Bollywood’s footsteps is Kollywood now.

Naan Avanillai can be called a trailblazer in Kollywood this way. This film remains in the news for many reasons. The yesteryear classic Naan Avanillai starred Gemini Ganesan, known as Kadhal Mannan, in an unusual role. He had essayed the role with precision. In this remake, Jeevan plays the role that the ace actor did then.

This film has Sneha, Malavika, Namitha, Jyothirmayi and Keerthi Chawla playing against Jeevan. The supporting cast includes many artistes too and interestingly, some of them have acted in the original version of the film, which was directed by K. Balachandar.
