Mohanlal has started shooting for an action-comedy entertainer titled Chotta Mumbai directed by Anwar Rasheed who gave Mammootty the blockbuster Rajamanickam in 2005.

Mohanlal has a new look for the film with a crew cut and wears jazzy shirts. Lal plays Vasco-Da-Gama alias Munnabhai, a happy-go-lucky guy who lives in Fort-Kochi area. He has a gang of merry men Jagathy, Siddique, Indrajeet and Manikuttan and their main job is to settle disputes, that arise in their area.

The female lead in the film is played by Bhavana who appears as an auto-rickshaw driver. Anwar Rasheed and Benny P Nayarambalam the scriptwriter feel that the film scheduled to release on April 14 (Vishu) will be a bigger hit than Rajamanickam!
