Mohanlal will start this new year with Chotta Mumbai which will be on the sets by first week of January. Lal is playing a character named Vascodagama in the film who is a youth who takes life not so seriously.

He will be there at every nook and corner of the city, doing jobs that he likes and involving in issues that he likes to get solved. The film which will be shot in and around Kochi will be scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam based on the story lines of the director, Anwar Rasheed.

The film will be produced by Sreebhadra pictures which have produced a few hits recently. Anwar Rasheed has been in the planning of this film for the past six months.

Every fan of the Lal expects much from the director, who has given the biggest hit for Mammootty in his career with Rajamanikyam, which fetched around 15 crores from the Kerala box office.
