Mammootty has completed the final touch up shooting of Pothen Vava with the last day shoot at the central prison in Poojapura, Thiruvananthapuram. Joshy, the veteran director of Pothen Vava for some sentimental reasons always used to shoot one scene at this location in every film from those of his in nineties and all those films were necessary hits among the masses.

Pothen Vava which boasts about the coming together of Mammootty with his favorite director Joshy is also going to be crucial affair for Mammootty. As his two of the last films met with lukewarm responses in the box office, Mammootty is in a position to prove again on his crowd pulling abilities.

Prajapathi and Bharaghava Charitham which were build around the starship didn’t cater well even among the big fans of Mammootty. But the news of consolation is that this film has been shaped up well with challenging heroic role of the star, giving adept chances to display his histrionic and emoting capabilities.

The script by Benny P. Nayaramabalam who has not delivered a flop till now will be the biggest strength of the film. Moreover Mammootty has by his side the marketing abilities of the best banner, Lal creations behind the production of this film.

Above all the film is offered as an Ramzan release which will also be a festival outing for his fans in the north ala Rajamanikyam of the last year.
