Power star Puneeth Rajkumar is 'Gandhi' – The Leader. On the occasion of Independence Day producer K.S.Dushyanth of Shree Chowdeshwari Cine creations in association with Jaimatha combines has announced the new film. Prakash who made two very good films 'Kushi' and 'Rishi' and then fumbled in his third film 'Shree' is taking up his fourth venture. Gurukiran scores the music and Krishnakumar is the cameraman for 'Gandhi'.

Prior to 'Gandhi' Puneeth Rajkumar starring 'Arasu' a home banner film is leaving for Australia in the first week of September according to Raghavendra Rajkumar. The songs and talkie portions would be shot in Australia for 15 days. This is the part of the first schedule of 'Arasu'. Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar is the producer of 'Arasu'. Mahesh Babu who directed the super hit Kannada film 'Akash' starring Puneeth Rajkumar and Ramya in lead roles is the director of the film. Jothwa Sridhar has lent the story while Ramesh Babu is the cameraman.
