Director Cheran's next movie for veteran producer-director-lyricist Panchu Arunachalam is all set to begin soon.

With Cheran himself playing the lead role besides wielding the megaphone, the movie has been titled Maya Kannadi.

Maya Kannadi stars Navya Nair opposite Cheran, while 'Kadhal' Sandhya has been assigned to play an important role in the movie.

Buzz was that Meera Jasmine might play the lead role. However impressed with Navya Nair's performance in Aadum Koothu directed by T V Chandran, Cheran has cast Navya as heroine for the movie.
