After completing four years in a relationship theatre person Makrand Deshpande and actress Sonali Kulkarni have decided to call it off. They shared a marvelous professional relationship. They were often spotted together at parties and social gatherings. It is quite apparent that there were many unresolved issues among the two.

The issue really surfaced when Sonali was dumped from the third sequel of the play Sir Sir Sarla. She played the lead in the previous sequels. What happened was quite unceremonious. She was not even invited for a party thrown for the play. Sonali was associated with the play for three years. Sonali is not in a position to speak about the issue.

Something that has kept her excited at this time is the release of her Italian film Fire at My Heart's international release. The film stars Omar Sharif. The film will release in March.

Professionally she is doing well. She will be seen opposite Nana Patekar in Taxi Number Nau Do Gyarah. She will also be seen in MF Hussain's biographical film. Her film Darna Zaroori Hai with Ram Gopal Verma is ready for release. She is also keeping herself busy with her family life and with her theatre group Samanvaya.
