Ajith and Vijay, whether they like it or not, will always be seen as adversaries by the market and the masses.

The two will have a face off at the box office when their respective films, Paramasivan and Aathi, are likely to release for Pongal.

It is battle royal for the public ---cinema’s equivalent of Sachin Tendulkar vs Shoaib Akhtar.

Ajith, coming back after a hiatus, and Vijay, riding a crest wave if success in recent times, are quietly confident of their films doing well.

Aathi, a remake of the Telugu hit Atanokkade, is an action adventure.

Paramasivan, directed by the redoubtable P Vasu, is also a commercial entertainer.

The music of both the films have been winners.

Paramasivan stars Laila as heroine while Trsiha leads the way on the distaff in Aathi. Meanwhile, Ajith’s film for AVM Tirupathi is also reportedly going slow as the production house is now very focused on Rajni-starrer Sivaji.
