Venkatesh is currently acting in Laxmi, directed by VV Vinayak. Laxmi is an action-sentiment mixer slated for release in January.

But even before the film could release, Venky has seems to have set his eye on remaking a hit film from Malayalam.

Well, Venky in fact has a history of successfully remaking in Telugu many popular hits in other languages.

So when a Malayalam film named Raajamanickyam,starring Mammooty in the lead, has clicked, naturally there were enough takers for its remake.

The news is that Sarath Kumar is doing its Tamil remake.

The other news is that Venky may do the Telugu remake. Singanamala Ramesh Babu has grabbed the rights.

The film is a rustic entertainer where Mammooty plays a rich buffalo dealer. There are lot of attendant sentiments and fun in the story.

Just the right thing for Venky to make a strong comeback.
