Though director Venkatesh has completed Sarath Kumar starrer Chanakya, the movie is still to grace the theatres.

Produced by Vishwas Sundar, the movie was slated for release last week. Unfortunately, the release has been delayed due to the red flag waved by film financier Sushil Gupta.

He had filed a case with a court in Chennai stating that the producer Vishwas Sundar has borrowed Rs.26 lakh from him and is yet to return the same. Till the amount is returned to him, the court should stay the release of the movie, he had pleaded.

Vishwas Sundar has meanwhile promised during enquiry that the amount will definitely be returned to the financier. With matter in the court, the release of the movie this week looks certainly impossible. Chanakya stars Sarath Kumar and Namitha in the lead roles and music is by Srikanth Deva.
