Denying reports that Ghajini is inspired by a Hollywood film, director Murugadoss says it is a movie about a rich and influential young entrepreneur who fights for the cause of emancipation of womanhood.

After the blockbuster Ramana, "I approached almost all the actors in Kollywood for Ghajini. I was rejected by more than dozen heroes. Finally, Surya took it as a challenge and decided to play the lead role", Ramana says.

Technically brilliant, Ghajini has all elements to make the audience happy, he says.

Sharing his experience working in Ghajini, Surya says, "playing a young entrepreneur and also a mentally affected youth was a great challenge for me. I took utmost caution and has given my best. After Kaakha Kaakha, it was my characterization in Ghajini which impressed me".

The movie also has Asin, Nayantra and would be released on 25 August, says producer Salem S Chandrasekhar.
