Captain Vijayakanth is a man on a mission these days.

He has been busy with the works for his political party that is in the offing. But he is playing his cards carefully and is keeping things close to his chest.

He has kept an open channel for every other party. He has also kept things open for his colleagues in the industry.

"I welcome all film personalities who decide to join my political party voluntarily", Vijayakanth said on Sunday. Speaking at the inauguration of a medical camp organized for the members of the Nadigar Sangam, Vijayakanth said "I am not forcing anyone to join my party. But if they wish to, I will welcome them".

Urging his fans, who are also members of other parties to quit immediately from their respective parties, Vijayakanth said "a couple of names have been finalized for our party and the final decision would be made after consulting our office-bearers".

We will be contesting the forthcoming Assembly polls independently come what may, the 'Captain' said and added, we will strive hard to wipe out communalism, casteism and corruption from public life'.

As part of the series of initiatives to prepare themselves for a political plunge, Vijayakanth will be meeting members of his fans associations from various districts in Chennai later this month.
