Uma daughter of Sumithra was adamant that she will not do glamorous roles. Many thought this to be a wrong move. She was noticed in BharathirajaÂs Kadal Pookal and Thangar PachanÂs Thendral. Though she was offered many roles which required to bare in songs from directors like Krishna Vamsi she turned them down. Her motherÂs present hubby Rajinder Singh a director in Karnataka has cast Uma opposite Upendra. Uma plays sister to Prasanth in Adaikalam Apart from this she has been signed for Vedanthangal directed by Ahatian and BhuvanaÂs Righta-Thaapa
