In the past, many times, Suriya himself has admitted that the role of Anbuselvan` came to him only because of Jyothika, who referred his name to Gautham. In a recent media interaction, the Minnale` director opened about who was the first choice for Kaakha Kaakha`. He said, it was supposed to be Ajith, and later he approached Vikram as well. He adds that, we (Ajith & Gautham) were supposed to sign the dotted lines prior to Asal` but somehow something wasn`t working out.

While answering to a question whether Thala 55` carries any commercial stuffs to up the ante for Ajith`s mass; he replied it with a big NO. “Even if I try to infuse extra commercial elements just for him, he usually says no to it. And also, I don`t know how to commercialize anything, I have never done that. There is absolutely no pressure on me from any side.”
