A few months back there were reports suggesting that actor Vijay`s 57th film Kaththi` is being produced by a firm closely associated with the Sri Lankan Government. The film is being produced by Ayngargan International and Lyca Entertainments and the latter is touted as a firm that has close connections with SL President Mahinda Rakapaksha.

Since the SL Government headed by President Rakapaksha is considered as anti Tamil the report caused outrage among Pro-Tamil groups. However A.R.Murugadoss has put an end to this outrage in a recent interview.

Murugadoss has assured that neither he nor Vijay would work for someone who is against Tamil people. The director further added that he committed himself for the project with Ayngaran who later teamed up with Lyca to produce the film. The director said his investigation about the firm confirms that it is not way connected to the Sinhala government and it is in fact being run by a Sri Lankan Tamil.
