Vijay stands accused of doing only mainstream films. He has allowed room for experimentation. His CV runs the risk of reading straight and narrow.

But the problem is he is loath to change.

"I would continue to act in commercial movies only. I want to be an actor on whom the producers can always bank on. Why bother a producer with needless experiments? If I want to work in a art film, I would rather produce it" Sounds logical. But is he hitting out at somebody else?

"Following Thirupachi, I would be doing an entertainer for Kalaipuli Thanu followed by a movie to be produced and directed by my father, S A Chandrasekhar", Vijay says.

Vijay believes in having a rule. And he sticks by it.
