Yesterday (April 24) was the polling day in all 39 Lok Sabha constituencies of Tamilnadu The state politics and Tamil cinema always have a close connection and yesterday the spotlight was on the Tinsel town stars who casted their votes in various polling stations across the state.
Superstar Rajinikanth was the first to vote among tinsel town celebrities. If the polling started at 7 am, the star reached the polling booth at Stella Maris College at 6:45 am and waited for the polling process to get ready. Since the electoral staff was in a hurry to start the polling in order to reduce the waiting time of the Superstar, they forgot to ink the index finger of the actor before he voted. However the alerted polling staff called back Rajini who was about to leave and inked his finger.

RajinikanthÂs good friend Kamal Haasan reached the polling booth at a corporation school in Teynampet. The Alwarpet resident was in the polling station with actor Gauthami as early as 7:45 am since he had to catch the flight to Australia where the song shoot of his upcoming film ÂUttama Villain is scheduled to happen.
ÂThala Ajith a resident of Thiruvanmiyur, is reported to have reached the polling station along with his parents and wife Shalini at around 6:30 am. Though he was offered the luxury of entering the voting room directly, the ÂVeeram actor refused it and waited in queue for almost 40 minutes and cast his vote at 7:20 am.
Onlookers revealed that he did not even wave his hand because if he does that the fans will roar and whistle in cheer leading to the calmness of the venue getting affected. Sources say that equal credit should go to the public who had gathered to vote, for not disturbing AjithÂs privacy. Ajith was also spotted talking with the person standing behind him in the queue. His wife Shalini was standing next to him.

Actor and the leader of DMDK political party Vijayakanth voted in school in Virugambakkam.
Actor Vijay reached the Corporation school near Adyar Telephone exchange to cast his vote around 9:45 am.
Suriya, his brother Karthi and father Sivakumar exercised their franchise in Hindi Prachar Sabha located at T.nagar at around 12 noon. The actor had flew down from Goa, where he was busy shooting the climax of his upcoming film ÂAnjaan directed by Lingusamy. The actor was noticed with a leg injury that he sustained a few days back while shooting a risky stunt shot.
Younger actors, Jiiva, Vishal, Sivakarthikeyan, Jeyam Ravi and many others turned up to the polling booths for voting.
Actresses who turned up to perform their democratic duty were no less in number. DMK party member Kushbu cast her vote along with hubby director Sundar.C in Santhome at around 8 am in the morning. Trisha voted in Stella Maris College while Sneha, Radhika and many other actors and actresses voted in their respective constituencies.
