Advertisement posters showcasing ‘Ilayathalabathi’ Vijay endorsing a private jewelry shop have been targeted by Election commission officials. As per the order of the officials, actor Vijay’s face has been removed from those posters pasted across Coimbatore.

Chikku Gallery : Vijay Meets Narendra Modi

Vijay met Narendra Modi, The Prime Ministerial candidate of Bharathiya Janata Party last week in a private hotel in Coimbatore where the Gujarat Chief Minister was stationed for campaigning for his party candidates. Though Vijay had clarified that the meeting was apolitical, the Election commission officers apparently see the meeting as Vijay’s way of endorsing a particular party. Hence this action has been taken, sources say.

Vijay fans living in and around Coimbatore have expressed displeasure for Vijay’s face being veiled though he did not publicly vouch any party or a candidate contesting in the election.
