In the audio release event of his upcoming magnum opus Kochadiiyaan, Superstar Rajinikanth revaled that he always likes 'Raja -Rani' stories and during childhood he will read a story only if it starts with 'Oru oorula oru raja irundhaar'. This can be taken as a hint about the veteran actor's huge liking to act in period characters.
Rajinikanth acted as King Krishnadevaraya in a stage play scene in Anbulla Rajinikanth. He also acted as Sri Raghavendra, which was the biopic of the Hindu Godman. He acted as the king Vettaiyan in the climax portion of the blockbuster film Chandramukhi and in his upcoming release Kochadiiyaan. Rajini acts in dual roles of a father-son duo of warriors dedicating their lives to save the people from enemies.
Now the latest we hear is Rajinikanth is going to continue his penchant for 'period' characters in his next film that is going to be directed by K.S.Ravikumar. As per reports, Rajini will act as a person born in the 20th century. Anushka will be the female lead in this portion. The Superstar will also play a current day character whose love interest will be another heroine in the film. It is for this role, Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is being approached.
This Rajini-Ravikumar film is expected to kick start on April 20, in Mysore where a grand set is reportedly being erected. As per sources, a dam will play a major backdrop in the film. Enthirans lensman Rathnavelu has been signed up for Cinematography of this film.
