Kutty, a physically handicapped youth, who lost one of his legs in an accident, is a source of inspiration for many today. Despite his physical handicap, he has gone on to become a film hero, coming up with stunning dance and stunt sequences.
At the audio release function of h is forthcoming movie Dancer in Chennai yesterday, Kuttys live dance performance on stage left everyone including Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Minister S Jaipal Reddy astonished.
After releasing the audio of Dancer, Jaipal Reddy was all praise for the director. I congratulate Keyar for churning out a movie with a message - physical handicap is no handicap. All credit should go to the director for taking courage in casting a physically-challenged youth as the hero.
About Kutty, the Minister said, I asked him why he did not complete his studies, he told me that others in the school would make fun of the handicap. This stigma should be done away with. Every individual has got his/her talent and all they need is an opportunity to show it to the world. What one needs is passion and it can be generated only by vision and ambition. Kutty, who has got the passion and determination has made a good beginning and would rise to great heights, he opined.
Welcoming Kutty to the film fraternity, actor Sarath Kumar said, it was a great feeling to see a youth, who has won over his handicap.
A couple of song and stunt sequences from the movie were screened on the occasion.
Devivaraprasad, president, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC), noted producer-director Panchu Arunachalam, directors K S Ravikumar, K Bhagyaraj and T Rajendhar were also present on the occasion.
