'Durga', a mass entertainer starring Naga Chaitanya and Hansika as the lead pair, directed by Srinivasa Reddy and produced by Varun Kumar and Swetha Lana in C Kalyan's presentation on Sri Subha Swetha Films banner has taken off today with Muhurtham at Annapurna Studios with D Rama Naidu, Raghu Rama Krishna Raju and VV Vinayak doing the Muhurtham honors.
Presenter C Kalyan said 'This film is supposed to have started four months ago. The script is hilarious and has all the mass elements that will woo the Akkineni fans. SS Thaman is composing the five songs in the film. We will start shooting from the 24th February and will have a continuous schedule till July and release for Ramzan. This film will standout as a landmark in Chaitanya's career much as Nagarjuna's 'Siva' did too...'
Director Srinivasa Reddy said 'The script has a rib tickling humor apart from mass action elements. Chaitu will be seen difefrently and Hansika is doing a role that has a great scope for glamour and performance too. Brahmanandam's role has really come out well and this will be my first mass film and I am sure, will go on to be loved by all'
Writer Akula Siva said 'Great entertainer with a beautiful message. The script is powerful as the title itself. Commercial entertainer'. Hansika said she is doing a role with scope for glamour and performance and is happy to be working with Chaitanya.
The event was graced by Allu Arvind, KS Rama Rao, Ammi Raju, Ashok Kumar, Alankar Prasad etc and blessed the unit.
The film has Naga Chaitanya and Hansika as the lead pair supported by Brahmanandam, Krishna Bhagavan, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Raghu Babu, Jeeva, Satyam Rajesh, Kondavalasa, Amith, Fish Venkat etc.
