Shankar’s S films Kadhal directed by Balaji Shaktivel got a touch of realism. A stickler for realism Balaji shifted his unit to Madurai. He had to film a fight scene among two uncles in the family. He decided to shoot with persons from the public instead of junior artistes. He assembled two groups and told to make the fight as realistic as possible. Right from the word start the fight began in all earnest. Seeing the situation getting out of hand the director tried to intervene but he too was beaten up and thrown out. A terrified director watched the fight. The people who got tired in the mock fight rested and asked the director whether it was enough. Without even waiting to reply the director fled the scene with the unit.

Sandhya the heroine of Kadhal has got a word of praise from Shankar. This plain Jane girl from Kerala is terrific in love and sentimental scenes. She dazzles even in sensuous scenes says Shankar. We will have to wait for one month to see all this.
