Yet another star from Malayalam filmdom ventures into Kollywood. In the likes of Mukesh, Mammooty, Murali, Kalabhavan Mani and Jayasurya, Biju Menon is to make his debut in Kollywood with Agaram, a movie to be directed by Nagaraj, who wielded the megaphone for Sarath Kumar starrer- Aravindhan earlier. Biju Menon had acted in number of Malayalam movies including Mazha, Millennium Star, Pattalam and Kannaezhuthi Pottumthottu before acting as a villain in the Tamil movie Agaram.
Nandha plays the role of a hero after having acted in Mounam Pesiyadhae and Punnagai Poovae. Hardeep Singh, the Miss Punjab for year 2003-2004, is acting as the heroine. Speaking about the film, Nagaraj says, Âthe entire movie revolves around areas close to the sea. A couple of stunt sequences had been shot in mid-sea with great difficulty. Perhaps after M G RÂs Ayirathil Oruvan, itÂs only in Agaram that an entire stunt sequence was shot in mid-sea, he adds. A film institute student Vettrivel, who had worked under popular cinematographers like Arthur A Wilson and Saravanan, is being introduced as cinematographer in the movie.
ÂWe have shot a song in areas near Tuticorin Port where huge sets were set upÂ, Nagaraj says, adding that noted director Agathiyan makes his debut as a actor in the movie. Nagaraj says comedian Vivek has given his best and it forms an important part of the story, while director Raj Kapoor and cinematographer- turned- actor Illavarasu has starred in a negative role with perfection.
ÂI introduced Yuvan Shankar Raja as a music-composer in Aravindhan. He is composing music for Agaram tooÂ, he adds. Lyrics have been penned by Snehan, while dialogues are written by Ravi - Rajan duo. Nagaraj expresses gratitude to Siva Yohan, proprietor, Silverstar Media. Siva is producing the film.Â
