While a host of film actors aspire to plunge into politics, actor Sathyaraj is already neck-deep into it and even succeeds in becoming a Chief Minister. Hold on. This is just the crux of his forthcoming film, Suyatchai MLA.
The movie is about a lorry driver entering politics, him winning the confidence of the masses and becoming a Chief Minister. It is directed by Guru Dhanapal, who had earlier joined hands with Sathyaraj to present blockbuster hits like Mamman Magal and Thai Mamman. Interestingly, veteran comedian Goundamani is making his re-entry into filmdom by playing the part of SathyarajÂs personal secretary in this film.
Prakash Raj plays the villain with Malayalam actors Thilakan and V M C Haneefa, Nasser along with Ponnambalam and Delhi Ganesh. Manthra and Sethu fame Abitha are the heroines. Music is by Sabesh-Murali with cinematography by D Shankar.
Speaking about the movie, Sathyaraj says, Âit is certainly a political satire. ItÂs an attempt to expose the ills in society in a entertaining way.Â
Guru Dhanapal says, Âwe tried our best to complete the movie before Lok Sabha elections, but could not. However, such subjects would click anytimeÂ. ÂSathyaraj and Prakash Raj, who had given their best on screen should be appreciatedÂ, he adds.ÂIn our democratic nation, every single vote counts. We want to drive home that point through our movieÂ,he adds.
The movie is to be released next month.
