The ace comedian Santhanam is working on the Tamil remake of the Hindi film 'Son Of Sardar'; the film is titled 'Maryada Ramanna'. In KLTA, Santhanam roped in a B-town babe for the lead lady role, and this time, he is said to be doing the same. For KLTA it was Vishakha Singh, and for 'Maryada Ramanna', it is expected to be the UK born Bollywood model-cum-actress, Geeta Basra, who happens to be Harbhajan Singh's girlfriend.

"Yes, I was approached for the heroine role in the Tamil remake of 'Son Of Sardar'. The talks are in the final stage, and I am likely to do it. Though I get offers from Telugu and Tamil, I haven't done more than a Jewellery advertisement with Rajiv Menon, here down South" says Geeta. Further, she continues "I have not had the opportunity to interact with Santhanam. But I have heard people say that he is a big name here on Tamil, and that he has a great sense of humour."

Meanwhile, sources close to the director of the film, Srinath, say that casting of Geeta, however, has not yet been finalized. "Santhanam was supposed to have met Geeta Basra when she was in Chennai, but the meeting did not materialize. Now she has returned to London. Her casting can be finalized only after he has met her."
