Comedy sensation Santhanam is to act in the remake of SS Rajamouli's 'Maryada Ramanna'. Earlier this was to have been helmed by director Kannan, but now the tables have turned. Actor-director Srinath, of 'Muthirai' fame, has taken charge of the film now. He confirmed the news and said "We are in the process of finalizing the cast crew. The project will go on the floor by mid March". Meanwhile, when quizzed about his decision, Kannan said "Producer Prasad V Potluri wanted a first-copy basis with Santhanam, which was not my cup of tea. I spoke it out with the producer, as well as Santhanam; this is a mutual decision". Any other project that Kannan helms? "I am ready with my next script - 'Alangaram'. I will be making this film for the same banner" says the director, who also said that he shall soon declare the same, officially.
