Actress Anushka has signed her next project which will be shot both in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. It is understood that it will be a historical period film and will be directed by Gunasekar, who won a National Award for Ramayanam and also produced a super hit with Okkudu.

The movie will mark a return for the director after a long break and will have music composed by Maestro Illayaraja and art direction by Thotta Tharani. The title for the film hasn't been decided yet but shoots will begin simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu in the following months. Anushka will be playing the role of Rutharama Devi and will portray the story of how she overcomes difficulties after being betrayed.

Illayaraja's music is expected to be a highlight in the film as the Maestro plans on using ancient instruments for composing the music.
