Popular filmmaker-actor and founder of Naam Thamizhar Iyakkam Seeman was absolved of the charges that he had spoken against the integrity of India on Tuesday.
Freeing him from charges, Puducherry Judicial Magistrate -II Bhuvaneswari said Seeman did not speak against the integrity of the country.
Seeman was charged with speaking against India and its integrity, during a fast protest by students of the Government Law College in Puducherry over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, on February 27, 2009.
The Judge observed that the prosecution failed to prove this with material evidences.
On the professional front, the director of 'Thambi' and 'Vazhthugal' has played a police officer in a couple of films including 'Evano Oruvan' and 'Uchithanai Muharnthaal'. And now, he will soon be seen as a cop again in director Ram Subbaraman's 'Kandupidi Kandupidi'.
