With actors turning producers and directors donning the greasepaint, wielding the megaphone has been the passion of cinematographers. The latest addition to the list, which has names from Balu Mahendra to K V Anand, is Ramji.

The 'Mayakkam Enna' cameraman, who is popular for his work in films like 'Ram' and 'Aayirathil Oruvan', has decided to helm a movie. "Yes, I am seriously thinking about it and an announcement will be made once things take shape," he says.

On the good feedback he has been receiving for 'Mayakkam Enna', he says, "Audience have changed a lot. They are ready to welcome new attempts. I am thankful to them, while my gratitude also goes to Selvaraghavan, for the director has a great visual sense."

Ramji's happiness is more when it comes to 'Mayakkam Enna', for it is the story of a lensman. "Being a person whose life is behind the camera, I know the joy and pain of a photographer. Dhanush gave a beautiful performance," he says.
