When it comes to Vijay's introductory songs that have major significance to his fans, ace choreographer Ashok Raja is the favourite master of several filmmakers in tinsel town. Ashok has worked in many of Vijay's earlier films including 'Pokkiri', 'Villu', 'Sivakasi', 'Vettaikkaran' and the songs were all massive hits.
He also bagged a State award for 'Thirumalai', which is again a Viay starrer. Hence roping him for 'Velayudham' for Ilayathalapathy's introduction song did not come as a surprise!
The actor's opening number 'Sonna Puriyadhu Sollukkul Aangadhu...' composed by Vijay Antony has been choreographed by Ashok Raja. Touted to be the costliest song ever made with a budget of 2 crores, the number was canned near Pollachi with thousands of dancers and junior artistes taking part in it.
"Director Raja wanted the song in a grand manner and it was not a mere opening song. It has a lot of bearing in the script. Though it was a big task to control the entire group, Vijay being a dance masters delight and his dancing abilities are well known, I could complete it without much hassle", Ashok says. Insiders reveal that the grandeur will be seen on the screen and is sure to top the chartbusters when the film gets released.
