IndiaGlitz reported sometime back that leading cinematographer Rathnavelu is planning to wield the megaphone. Now the project is getting shape with the cameraman finalizing crucial things related to his maiden directorial venture.

Randy's debut movie as a filmmaker is not in Tamil, but in Kannada. And it will feature Puneeth Rajkumar, one of the top actors of Sandalwood, in the lead role. A top actress is slated to romance Puneeth in this yet-to-be-named project.

"I am happy that I am going to direct a top star in maiden venture as a director. Puneeth is a good friend of mine and we both have been discussing about making a film together for the past two years now," says the cinematographer of 'Enthiran'.

Giving status update on 'Rana', Superstar Rajinikanth's forthcoming film, Rathnavelu, who is dearly referred to as Randy, says, "The Superstar is taking rest now. We will soon start the project, once he is back in full form. I am eagerly looking forward to work with Rajini sir again."
