Soon after the release of 'Vithagan', R Parthipan will start a new project, which would have him donning the role of a director alone. A popular actor will be the protagonist of the yet-to-be-named movie.

"Immediately after his first film Puthiya Pathai, Parthipan wanted to direct a movie with another acting playing the lead role. But some how, he was unable to fulfill his wish till now," according to circles close to him.

"However, he has now made a constant decision to wield the megaphone alone for the film. This decision, he feels, would enable him to concentrate more on the project. Expect an official announcement soon," they add.

'Vithagan', directed by Parthipan, has him playing the role of a police officer. Produced by Manickam Narayanan of Seventh Channel, Poorna is playing the heroine in this film. "Vithagan is getting ready for a release," sources further say.
