After ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ was shelved out due to the unimaginable budgets, Mani Ratnam has worked out two scripts. Unlike ‘Ponniyin Selvan,’ it is said that both these scripts are contemporary.

One of the scripts is a two-hero project. Actor Karthik’s son, Gautham Karthik is being considered as one of the heroes, whereas the other hero would be Arya or Mahesh Babu, say sources. But knowing Mani Ratnam and his bi-lingual or tri-lingual approaches, it may also be that both Arya and Mahesh Babu are part of the project for the same role in each language.

Whereas, there’s another script Mani had penned and narrated to Arya to which the actor readily agreed, of course.

So which project will Mani Ratnam choose to proceed with first? People, who know the director well, say that he will choose the script that gets good finance.

Well, whatever it may be, looks like we will be watching Arya for sure in Mani Ratnam’s next!
