Vijayakanth hardly misses an opportunity to spend the summer vacation with his family, that too in a foreign location. Now that the dog days are back, the actor-politician is packing his bags.

This year, the Captain, along with wife Premalatha and two sons, will visit Italy, the native land of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. He will tour Rome and other important places in the ancient country.

“The DMDK chief will leave for Italy by a flight today. He will be back in Chennai only on May 12, a day before the counting of votes polled during the April 13 elections to the Tamil Nadu Assembly,” say sources.

They add: “During the vacation, he may also decide on the next film, as he is aware that his fans are eagerly waiting for a movie of him. But everything depends on how many seats his party wins.”
