Now that he has decided to film Kalki’s classic ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, Mani Ratnam has started groundwork to get every minute detail right. Currently, the top director of the country is on a location hunt.

“Since it is a period film, Mani is not ready to make any compromise as far as locations are concerned. Recently, he embarked on a marathon journey of location hunting,” say sources.

Giving more details, they say, “Mani, along with few of his assistants, traveled from Tamil Nadu to North India in a van in search of locations. He has zeroed in on some ten places for the film’s shoot.”

The film is expected to have Vijay, Mahesh Banu, Anushka and others in lead roles. Noted writer Jayamohan is assisting Mani Ratnam in doing some changes to the script as per the demands of a film, add sources.
