Japan is slowly but steadily limping back to normal. The country which has recently been a target to natural calamities sacrificed hundreds of lives in the recent earthquake that shook not only the country but also the lives of people living in it. The Tsunami that ensued washed away with whatever was left and rendered thousands homeless.

Nations across the world have expressed their sympathy towards brethren in Japan in terms of money, food and medicines. The rich and affluent across the globe have donated generously to the suffering in Japan. The top brass in Chennai met at Mandapam Hall, Chola Sheraton at 5.30 PM yesterday for a condolence meet.

The people present for the meeting included The Acting Consul General of Japan Mr.Takayuki Kitagawa, Russian Consul General in South India Mr.Nikolai Listapadov, and Representatives of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Chennai city.

Also present were Super Star Thiru Rajinikanth who has donated generously. The star has a huge fan base in Japan post the release of his Muthu and all the films that released post Muthu being screened there. Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu, Sivaji Ramkumar, danseuse Dr.Padma Subramaniam, actor-artist Shivakumar, Justice A.R.Lakshmanan and Industrialists, Educationists, IAS and IPS officers as well as Vice-Chancellors of Universities extended their support and participated in the event.
