Many of us know that Aadhav Kannadasan, who is making his debut as an actor in ‘Ponmaalai Pozhudhu’, is the grandson of great poet Kannadasan, who is fondly called as ‘Kaviarasar’.

But it is a little known fact that Aadhav actually wanted to become a director and fate had other plans. “I was working as an assistant to GNR Kumaravelan, who directed Ninaithale Inikkum,” he says.

‘Ponmaalai Pozhudhu’is directed by debutant A C Durai, who penned dialogues for ‘Sillunnu Oru Kadhal’, the Suriya-Jyothika starrer. “Durai is extremely good at narrating love stories,” Aadhav says.

Happy about the title ‘Ponmalai Pozhudhu’, the young actor says, “It is my privilege that the title is inspired by the first song of Vairamuthu. Recently, I met Illayaraja sir and sought his blessings too.”
