Guess who has penned the lyric for a song in ‘Mankatha’, Ajith’s 50th film. It is none other than Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s great grandson Niranjan Bharathi. And director Venkat Prabhu is extremely happy to have him on board.

“It is our privilege to work with Niranjan Bharathi, who hails from a great family. Besides him, ace lyricist Vaali and my father Gangai Amaran have also penned lyrics for ‘Mankatha’ album,” he says.

Happy about working with his cousin Yuvan Shankar Raja again and again, Venkat says, “we share a very good rapport and he exactly knows what I want. So we are able to provide good songs.”

On Ajith, he says, “he is a cool person who is so down to earth. ‘Mankatha’ will be a perfect birthday treat for Ajith and his fans, as we are planning to release the film around May.”
