At a time when speculations were rife that actor Vijay would enroll himself in the AIADMK, his father and popular director S A Chandrasekar called on former Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa in Chennai on Saturday evening.

The meeting took place in the context of reports that the actor is facing difficulties for releasing his new film ‘Kavalan' since many cinema halls, under political pressure, were not ready to screen the film.

During his 40-minute meeting with Jayalalithaa, Chandrasekar has reportedly explained Jayalalithaa about how his son was unceremoniously ‘dropped’ from the remake of ‘Three Idiots’, due to ‘pressures’ from powerful personalities.

If reports are to be believed, Chandrasekar has sought the main Opposition leader’s support. Vijay himself was expected to meet Jayalalithaa. But he did not turn up. “He will meet Amma soon,” said sources in the AIADMK.
