Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Sunday launched the audio of ‘Ilaignan’, which is his 75th movie as script-writer, at a function in Chennai. The first copy was received by Superstar Rajinikanth.

Speaking on the occasion, the octogenarian, who has connection with the film industry for over six decades, recalled the days he received remuneration on a par with Sivaji Ganesan for penning dialogues.

Going down the memory lane, Karunanidhi said he used to watch silent movies in his home town Tiruvarur. “Without questioning the logic, I watched mythological movies with all interest,” he said.

Lyricists Vaali and Vairamuthu, Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi, actress Kushboo Sundar, Namitha, producer of ‘Ilaignan’ S Martin, director Suresh Krishna and lyricist Pa Vijay, who has played the protagonist, also took part.
