Meenakshi would never forget 'Mandhira Punnahai', a film in which she is acting opposite director Karu Pazhaniappan, in her life. Not just because the 'meaty role' she is playing in the movie, but also thanks to a horrifying experience.

Narrating the trauma she underwent while shooting a song, the actress says, "The particular area (Chikmaglur in Karnataka) was full of leeches. They would crawl on my skin and suck blood".

She adds: "W were there for almost four days and every day the leeches would play spoilsport. My costumes would be drenched in blood. It was a painful experience".

Thanking Karu Pazhaniappan, who is also the director of the film, for all the help, Meenakshi says, "He ensured that the unit members took good care of me. Also, the song has come out well".
