Having played comical roles in ‘Chennai 600028’ and ‘Goa’ and off-beat characters in ‘Subramaniapuram’ and ‘Aval Peyar Thamizharasi’, Jai has expressed his interest to do commercial movies.

“It’s a longtime interest of Jai to do a typical masala film. He is planning to do a movie with either Perarasu or A Venkatesh, the two directors who are known for constantly delivering mass films,” circles close to the actor say.

“At the same time, Jai would continue doing ‘Subramaniapuram’ and ‘Aval Peyar Thamizharasi’ kind of roles too,” they say and add: “All that he wants is to prove himself as an actor who could do any type of character.”

In the meantime, the actor is expecting the release of ‘Kanimozhi’, a film produced by T Siva of Amma Creations and directed by Sripathi, a former associate of Venkat Prabhu. “It is a different story which portrays Jai in a different shade,” sources add.
