With just days left for the release of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Raavanan’, which is hitting the screens on June 18th, list of cinema halls which will screen the film has been released to the media.

The Vikram-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer produced by Madras Talkies in association with Reliance Big Pictures will have 16 theatres showing it in Chennai main area alone, not to speak about screens in suburbs like Chrompet, Ambattur, Koyambedu and Redhills etc.

Meanwhile, buzz is that two young and powerful producers of Kollywood, whose recent releases were declared as hits, approached Big Pictures and Mani to acquire the film, but the original producers were not ready to sell the ‘prestigious project’ for anything less than Rs 35 crore.

Following this, the ‘Mani Ratnam film’ is being released as planned by Big and Madras Talkies, backed by non-stop promotions in newspapers, television channels and radio stations. The movie is expected to have a simultaneous release in Hindi and Telugu with its title known to all as ‘Raavan’ and ‘Villain’ respectively.
