Cricketer Sadagopan Ramesh has just finished shooting his latest movie 'Patta Patti 50-50', a cricket-centric comedy where he plays the lead role, appearing as himself.
The movie is produced by AVR Talkies in association with Flicker Studios. Debutant Yuvaraj is directing the film. Says the director, "This is a comedy film - a dizzy combo of romance and cricket".
Queried about the story, he says, "Sadagopan Ramesh, who plays a cricket coach in this movie, is on the way to his native place - a village. On the way, he has to stop at a village in Theni district and provide coaching to a cricket team which is taking part in a rural cricket tournament. Certain events overtake him. He also falls in love with Ranjitham (newcomer Harini) in the village. Circumstances force him to stay in the village and he cannot leave it".
"Thereafter, several events take place. The movie then becomes a breezy, romantic comedy." The movie was shot in picturesque locales of Theni district, Uppaarpatti, and surrounding areas of Chinnamannur, Periyakulam, Andipatti and Cumbum.
A highlight of the movie is that it will feature 30 new faces. Mayilsamy makes a special appearance. Arul Dev has scored the music for the lyrics of Jayamurasu. Cinematography is handled by Gopi Amar and editing by Raja Mohammed.
